Blog Post » Why I am a volunteer?

Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial or social gain “ to benefit another person , group or organization.”

With this in mind I joined the PAIN AND PALLIATIVE CARE SOCIETY, PUSHPAGIRI Thiruvalla with the inspiration given by Late Rev. A. C. Kurian ten years back. I try to do something good for the suffering community by giving my extra energy to someone who may be benefited. I also feel it is as an act of kindness. It enriches our society and brings us together as a community. Volunteering is important because it helps me to better as an individual and it is a free way to feel good about myself. It also gives me a satisfaction which will help me to continue this work.
